Re-Elect Sandra Yeung Racco (Ward 4) on October 22, 2018
Councillor Sandra Yeung Racco has worked tirelessly on behalf of her constituents for more than 14 years.
During her four terms on Vaughan Council, she has been the driving force behind tackling traffic issues, building new parks, increasing the number of arts and cultural initiatives and addressing the needs of youth and seniors.
She also supported the construction of the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension and extremely involved with the current development of the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre – Vaughan’s new downtown to ensure the proper policies are in place.
Councillor Racco was born in Hong Kong and raised in Ontario. She completed her A.R.C.T. at the Royal Conservatory of Music and graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Music Education degree.
After graduation, Councillor Racco ventured into the world of international business relations, developing an understanding of the needs of global business communities. However, it was her volunteer work in the not-for-profit sector where she developed her drive to help the local community.
Councillor Racco’s background and experience blend business relations, the arts, love of family and understanding the needs and priorities of her Ward 4 constituents. She is committed to delivering results beyond the level of expectation and building a vibrant community in her ward.
The Councillor currently lives in Thornhill with her husband and four children.
Voting is a fundamental right of our democracy. When you vote, you are selecting representatives who will make the laws and policies that determine how our City functions and how we live together.
Advance vote is being conducted across all five wards and is once again using a "vote anywhere" model which means you can cast your ballot at any one of our voting locations. Accessible voting devices will be available at City Hall throughout the eight-day advance vote period.
New for 2018, the City has partnered with the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) to conduct two days of advance voting at two subway stations located in Vaughan. Between October 15 and 16, cast your ballot on your way to or from the subway.
